Our
Services
-
Leak Detection
We specialize in finding leaks in your pool. If the leak isn’t visible via manual inspection, we can test the main drain, skimmer, and return lines with leak detection equipment.
-
Leak Repair
In most cases, if the leak is in the cavity of the pool (whether vinyl liner or gunite), we can make necessary repairs on the spot.
-
Pool Care & Maintenance
We also do seasonal pool openings and closings, sand filter replacements, and weekly chemical maintenance & pool water recovery processes.
30 Years of Experience You Can Rely On
I started diving and repairing pools at the age of 10. I loved it so much I turned my passion for being underwater into a career as a commercial diver doing heavy underwater construction working around the country. In my time as a diver, I’ve been a part of construction projects at nuclear power plants, oil refineries, water plants and more. Throughout the entirety of my diving career, I never stopped fixing pools, combining my affinity for being underwater for extended periods of time and knowledge of water movement and underwater machinery to develop techniques for locating and assessing even the trickiest of leaks. This is how my satisfied customers have come to call me the pool whisperer.
What Our Clients Say
How It Works
Reading the complexity of water movements to correctly identify and assess leaks takes time and trained senses. As experienced divers and technicians, we have both. We get into your pool with full SCUBA gear so we can see and feel the overall conditions of the pool. Once we narrow down the location of the leak, we use a variety of techniques to assess the type and severity of the issue. And, when possible, we use a GoPro camera to document the sources of leaks to show customers.
The Cost of a Pool Leak
A pool leak is a wallet leak - one that only gets worse if left unaddressed. The problem is, they are so easy to ignore at first. A hole the size of a pin head in your pool-liner can result in upwards of 250 gallons of water lost in the span of 24 hours. Aside from the sense of waste, that’s a cost of just $1.20 a day at the current average price of water in Southeast Michigan. Not so bad, right?
Unfortunately, the cost of a pool leak rarely just includes the cost of lost water. The next issue is damage to your yard and surrounding structures - that water (not to mention those expensive chemicals) has to go somewhere. Worst case scenarios include the leaking water washing out the sand from under your liner on an above-ground pool, causing the liner to tear or, for an in-ground pool, causing the vermiculite beneath to crumble and become sharp. Both are major expenses. Then there’s the cost of replacing a pump that’s been sucking air after the water drops below the skimmer line. Furthermore as water gets behind the liner, it can cause the liner to shrink, which may put additional stress on parts where they are the weakest: near the stairs, lights, skimmers, and returns. These scenarios can typically be avoided if the leak is caught and handled in a timely manner; if left unresolved, liner replacement may be needed.
